Weekly Photo: Shinkansen 60th anniversary

To kick off this November post, it will be about Nagoya. I really like Nagoya a lot. It’s the home of Legoland and has an interesting sengoku history.

During my recent visit to Japan, I noticed in Kyoto and Nagoya there was a 60 number displayed in the Shinkansen stations.
At first, I didn’t know what it was. But later on TV I saw an ad about Shinkansen 60th anniversary. Then I put two and two together!

That’s a big celebration! So many wonderful shinkansen we can ride on. Do you have a favourite shinkansen?
I recently read that Doctor Yellow to be retired in 2025. I have never seen the train in real life. I wonder what the next model will look like.
