Happy Chinese New Year! Happy lunar new year!
It’s the year of the fire horse. I don’t know which element is the best.. but I feel like when it’s a fire animal the Chinse horoscopes say you need to be careful about something.

Sunday 1st February 2026

The first picture for February is of red apple that has the Chinese character ‘Good Fortune‘.
I have never seen this before but what a good idea! I’m guessing the farmer put tape on the growing apple to achieve this effect. But if you know how it was done, you can comment below.

Breadtop has a Chinese New Year theme cake. It’s really cute.
It has the Chinese money god; known as Caishen (财神), red pocket and the Chinese ingot.

Below picture if from Sydney Chinatown. They have a wooden fire horse decoration.
I took this picture in the middle of the day but I wonder if there’s a light shinning on it during the night.
I like the clouds around the horse.
Chinese New Years is on 17th February this year.

Walking through the shopping centre, there’s more decorations for Chinese New Years now a days.
The walkway had white and red Chinese theme clouds. I thought it was really pretty with the light shining through the glass.
