Weekly Photos for March 2026: Gacha toys.

This month is about Gacha. You insert a coin into the machine, then turn the handle. The item/capsule should drop into the slot for you to collect. Playing gacha is fun and at least you’re guaranteed to get a toy. unlike UFO/claw catching machines, which you can spend lots of money but walk away with nothing.

During my younger days, the local gacha machines was smaller with a metal knob. It costs 20 cents (AUD). Even the capsule was small like small chocolate Easter egg. It would fit a small toy ring and I remember getting tiny plastic camels. Brings back fun memories.

Sunday 1st March 2026

The first photo is of the Japanese Shinkansen. Each train has their own name. The white and red Shinkansen is called Nishi Kyushu. The white and blue one is called E7 Kagayaki.
Nishi Kyushu is the same train as the N700S, but has a different body colour. The N700 series is the main train that goes from Tokyo to Hakata, it’s white with blue stripes. The first shinkansen was called Shinkansen Zero. N700S is the latest model from this family line.

Each toy shinkansen is different. Some of the head parts has headlights and each body has different detail too. You can spend a lot of money on this gacha because each train has seperate heads and bodies, then you have the extra rail bits, like the tunnels. If you want the whole collection, you’ll be spending alot of money!

Sunday 8th March 2026

Next gacha is a retro mini camera. It doesn’t take any photos. When you press the shutter the zoom lens pops out and it makes a shutter noise and flashes.

I was happy I got the classic silver and black body.

The next gacha was a 3D printed octopus. The octopus i got has two different colours.

I dropped it later that day and a small piece for the leg broke off. I have to treat it more carefully because it’s 3D printed.

This is a cute birdhouse with one bird. It’s very cute, I tried this twice and I got the same birdhouse.

It’s a cute set and if you get the cube, it will become stackable.

I like the design of the gacha machines. The picture below is a different gacha machine. Have you seen gacha with lights before? Each of the turn knob has lights around it, it thought it was interesting.
I use to be obsessed with playing UFO machine but it’s getting harder and harder to catch the items. Now it has become more frustrating than fun.
It’s more funnier to play with gacha. At least you will get an item.. even if it’s something you don’t want from the set. It’s still better than nothing.
