Today’s picture: Chinese new year display
I took this picture while overseas, so I don’t get to see Chinese New Year decorations displayed like this back home in Australia. Chinese chinese new year, the most I’ll see if people putting the ‘luck‘ symbol outside their door. Some would put the character the correct way up and some (like the picture below) would stick the character upside down. You stick it upside down in hope that good fortune will arrive at their house, it’s a play on words with the language and there’s an origin story about it too.
