Moon cake

Today’s picture: Moon cake

This photo is old. Mid Autumn festival was in August. During August Chinese shops would start stocking with moon cake tins. There’s so many brands now and even the ingredients inside are different.
The moon cakes are made in China, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Well, that’s from what I can see that’s being imported to Australia. Depending on the brand, it can cost you up to AUD$60 and cheapest is AUD$25. The standard box should have 4 moon cake inside.
I prefer the basic lotus seed flavour. They do have frozen moon cake and it has a mochi skin, but I don’t like these as much.

The picture below is from Casa Hana. I’ve never seen this brand before and it’s from Malaysia. The flavour was pandan. it was very nice. When I look on their site, it looks like they create various of flavours.
