Review: Lo-fi /Vintage Camera app on ISO and Android

Review: Lo-fi /Vintage Camera app on ISO and Android

PLEASE NOTE: I do not get paid for this review. I wanted to review these apps because I wanted to test out the camera apps.

When I created Nijispiral I wanted to showcase my photography skills and to put up my concert photography but as I got older and busier with full time work, I had less time to go to concert (which was unpaid gigs).
I decided to create a weekly photo blog with using “toy camera“.
I started with Fuuvi Biscuit Camera (February 2015-June 2018), Digital Harinezumi by Superheadz (July 2018-October 2019) and Sun and Cloud by Superheadz (November 2019-2020). It is fun having a physical camera to carry around but it is annoying spending lots of money when you are not happy with the outcome of the picture (I’m looking at you Harinezumi! Photo is too vivid). Each toy camera I bought was getting more bulky, so it become more of an inconvenience to carry around.

I decided to search the app store and I came across three apps I have now settled on. You can see the review below on youtube. Having the app on your phone makes it so much easier because you can take out your phone and don’t need to carry anything extra.

Summary for the three camera apps (all 3 available on ISO and android):

NOMO CAM: (ISO & android)
Cost AUD$24.99 per year
- Big camera selection
- Can buy one off camera
- Offers 5 FREE cameras
- Can add shortcut for one camera

OLDROLL: (ISO & android)
Cost AUD$9.99 per year. Life-time AUD$11.99
- Big camera selection
- Can buy one off camera
- Offers 8 FREE cameras
- Can purchase filters (lens)

FIMO: (ISO & android)
Cost AUD$45.99 per year. Life-time AUD$139.99
- Big film selection
- Offers 5 FREE films
- Trial film on offer

In conclusion, all three apps is good and provides lots of different options to suit everyone’s needs. You’ll need to play with each app to see which camera or film tickles your fancy.
I decided to go with OldRoll because the twin lens camera won my heart. Since using Superheadz Blackbird Fly, I fell in love with the twin lens. Then I moved onto Mint’s Instantflex TL70, which feels amazing with the weight and the quality of the camera.

Which camera app do you enjoy using?
