Review: Hand made children clothes by Asai Makiko
The book I’m going to review is called Hand made children clothes by Asai Makiko. In Japanese the title is ハンドメイドベビー服enannaの90~130センチサイズのこども服. The sizes is between 1 years old to 9 years old child.
This book has a nice combination of top and bottom designs for boys and girls. Buying clothes books without looking inside the book can be hard because you don’t know if the pattern will be simple or if the clothes designs is what you are after. I am happy I purchased this book as it offers simple and easy patterns to follow.
Below is a picture of the content page. It has a good combination of designs like shorts, tops and dresses. There' is even a design to make shorts with frills, which is a nice cute touch for the girls.
Next few pictures below will display different designs for offer. A lots of the designs is for spring and summer wear. I prefer baggy and lose clothes so for the kids, I think it’s good for them to wear comfy clothes too. When I’m at the shops, I feel like a lot of girl clothes is really tight and most of the pants options are all tights.
There is an option to make a coat too. I don’t have the skill to make a coat but will like to try one day. Skirts designs is always interesting and I like to look at different designs because you have have a circle or rectangle design and it will make a difference from how the pleated looks like.
Below is the pattern page. I thought the pattern and instructions were very clear. At the back of the book it comes with a fold out page of patterns.
In conclusion, this books has a nice combination of patterns for a light clothes for spring and summer. The patterns is for 90cm-130cm children which is for about 1 to 3 year old children. My favourite design is the picture you see above at the back of the book, which is the girl wearing red and white strip dress. It’s very cute and it’ll be a nice present to make for my little cute nieces.
