Beksul Korean Hotcake/pancake mix Translate Review
I love eating fluffy pancakes when I visit places like Pancakes by the Rocks and Pancake Parlour but trying to achieve the same thickness and fluffiness is not possible for me. I’ve tired buying the premix from the restaurants but it’s still not the same and I get a thin pancake.
I’ve been on a hunt for a nice pancake mix for a while. I have settled on the Japanese brand Morinaga Pancake mix for a few years, which gave me a nice small fluffy pancake. On a future post I will do a review/instruction translation on this pancake too.
In Japanese they call pancake Hotcake. But I need to do my research if the Korean also use the word hotcakes too. Regardless, the word hotcake and pancake means the same thing.
During my recent trip to the Korean grocery, I decided to try a 1kg pancake mix by Beksul and this is now my favourite pancake mix. You can buy this mix from the Korean grocery or Amazon.
It is really fluffy and I didn’t need to do much to achieve this result. Simply mix all the ingredients and cook it.
The main problem with the Korean and Japanese packaging is that it has no English translation. So I thought other people would be searching for this Korean pancake mix and would like to know the instructions too.
The instructions on the packet has two options:
Option 1: Add 2 eggs, 400ml milk in a bowl and mix. Afterwards add 500g of hotcake mix to the wet mix and stir.
Option 2: Add 2 eggs, 280ml water in a bowl and mix. Afterwards add 500g of hotcake mix to the wet mix and stir.
Scoop the batter onto the fry pan on medium heat. Once you see holes appear, the pancake is ready to flip over.
I prefer to use with milk but for some people who are lactose intolerance, using water would be a better option or using lactose milk.
I can make about 12-15 pancakes, depending on size of the pancake from 500g of hotcake mix. Now I use half of the ingredients amount because I don’t need to cook a large amount.
There are times when you make a batter and when you need to cook it one at a time, the batter becomes flat. But with the Beksul’s mix, the last pancake was still fluffy on the inside.
If you try Beksul’s pancake mix, I hope you will get a yummy fluffy pancake too.
You can buy this mix from the Korean grocery or on Amazon.
Amazon has a lots of items from Beksul’s brand here.
Thank you for visiting and enjoy making your fluffy yummy pancake. (o´ω`o)
