The magpie might look like a harmless black and white bird, but during Spring in Australia they can attack you. Is this bird in other countries?
During July to November these birds will create their nest and protect their eggs. If anyone comes near the nest, the magpies will come and swoop at your head.
During spring, I get paranoid walking back to my car after work because there is a lot of tall trees around. Thankfully, I have never been swooped at, but I know friends who has had that experienced.

They say you need to give eye contact with the bird, so they don’t attack you. Some people stick fake eyes behind their hats or spikes (cable ties) on their bike helmet.
